The finals of the fourth annual Lady Jacket Mid-Winter Classic are set after Saturday morning's consolation semi-final round wrapped up.

In the first game of the session, the Chester Lady Yellow Jackets routed Agape Christian 69-20 to advance to the consolation championship.

Chester ran out to a 24-8 first quarter lead and never looked back.  It was arguably the best half of basketball for the Lady Jackets to this point of the season.  Chester outscored Agape 17-5 in the second and took a commanding 41-13 lead to the locker room at halftime.

The Lady Jackets built a commanding 60-20 lead heading to the fourth quarter.

Shelly Lyons led a balanced Lady Jacket attack with a game high 14 points.  Jade Jolly and Hilary Best each finished with 10 points while Ariel Gales tossed in eight.

Allison Miller (6), Jordan Clendenin (5), Kellie Bert (4), Megan Marcinkowska (4), Kristy Pulliam (4) and Raelyn Rosendohl (2) also scored for Chester.

Ashley Dietz led Agape with 12 points.  Haley Holland finished with five while Hannah Stanton finished with three points.

In the final consolation semi-final game, the New Athens Yellowjackets jumped out early and then held on late to be fellow Cahokia Conference foe Valmeyer 39-26.

New Athens jumped out to a 12-0 lead after the first quarter and led 25-12 at halftime after outscoring Valmeyer 13-12 in the second quarter.

The Yellowjackets took a 32-16 lead heading to the fourth.  Valmeyer refused to quit as they outscored New Athens 13-7 in the quarter but couldn't overcome the first quarter deficit.

Ariana Muffo led New Athens with a game high 13 points while Erika Laumbattus finished with 11.

Caitlin Nappier led Valmeyer with 10 points and Laura Berry tossed in seven.

The finals of the tournament are now set.  Valmeyer and Agape will play for seventh place at 2:15pm followed by the consolation final between Chester and New Athens.  Elverado and Trico will meet for third place at 5:30pm while Marissa and Sesser will battle for the championship at 7pm.

A 10-member All Tournament Team will be announced at the end of the championship game.  That information will be posted here later tonight.
